is it possible to control the phone via serial port?

I would like to make a computer bridge between my cellphone and a computer in order to integrate my cellphone into my home POTS phone so I can make calls from my home phone over the cellphone.

I realize that I would need a FXS interface for the PC to generate dialtone, accept digits, provide ringing voltage (90VAC @ 20Hz, 2 seconds on, 4 seconds off).

Basically id just disconnect the BellSouth cable at the side of my house. Then Id plug in the FXS interface on the PC into my home phone wiring.

What would happen is I would go offhook on a analog POTS phone in my house. The FXS card in the PC would generate dialtone for the POTS phone. The FXS card will accept the dialed DTMF digits from the POTS phone and will then give a command over the serial cable to the cellphone to dial the collected digits. Of course Id need to connect the cellphone's ear/mic connector to a soundcard in the PC to complete the audio path from the POTS phone to the cellphone.

Obviously, my cellphone doesnt have bluetooth.

I can handle the FXS card area, I just need a pointer in the right direction to make the cellphone take commands for placing/receiving calls.

Thanks,
OC
