So I just got a brand spanking new A900 and would like to start playing with the restricted APIs. Of course, this means that I now need a $400 Verisign certificate. Now being mostly a hobbist, open-source developer, I don't really want to pony up $400 on my own but it seems that other people should be in my predicament and want to share the cost.

I'm thinking of buying a cert and hooking up a web gateway that automatically signs Java apps for other parties, charging around $10-20 (per year) for the privilege. Then, other devs can just use that rather than getting their own cert. Has anyone already done this? Would others be interested in paying a nominal fee for a gateway that auto-signs their test apps?

Finally, does anyone have a test app that uses GPS or the Media API that I can use to verify I've properly enabled the developer root on my phone? Thanks!
