OK, here is what I'd like to do, but I don't even know if it's possible.
I have PCS Vison, so I created myself a website with ringtones I created as well (http://wap.ryansechrest.com), so I can download them. They automatically save into the ringers folder and then I can apply them to incoming calls.
So, now I have a friend with another phone (FUSIC, I have SCP 8400) but with NO vision.
Problem: How do I get the Ringtone to their phone for them to use?
You can transfer files over... via USB, but they all go either in the media player folder, the picture folder, voice folder, etc, there is no way to access the ringers folder.
Possible Solution?
This is what I was thinking. Could I move the M4A ringer (with GDC file) into a media folder, let's just say I move it where the MP3's are stored, and then make a HTML page, with a link to that GCD file which again links to the m4a locally, and then 'downloads' into the ringer folder, which then the ringer can be assigned.
Is this a stretch or possible.
You can move a html file over there, which is no problem, but the problem is
(a) how do you get a browser of some sort that can browse the phone to open that file
(b) what is the 'local' link to direct to in the GCD file.... which I guess you could figure that out once you see the directory.
Any thoughts?
